Sofia, Bulgaria – October 14–16, 2025
The SYMBIOSIS project gained strong visibility during the IRF Europe & Central Asia Regional Congress and Bulgarian National Transport Infrastructure Conference, thanks to contributions from Dr. Thierry Goger (FEHRL) and Dr. Lazaros Georgiadis (CERTH) in two complementary sessions.
SYMBIOSIS Mentioned in the Digital Corridors Executive Panel

Thierry Goger (FEHRL)
During the Digital Corridors – Infrastructure for Intelligent Mobility Executive Panel,
Dr. Thierry Goger, Secretary General of FEHRL, highlighted SYMBIOSIS as one of the key European initiatives driving sustainability in transport infrastructure. In the context of discussions on digitalisation, intelligent mobility, and data-driven asset management, he underlined the project’s importance in embedding biodiversity considerations into future-ready transport corridors.
In-Depth SYMBIOSIS Presentation in the Sustainable Infrastructure Session
Lazaros Georgiadis (CERTH)
In the dedicated session “Sustainable Infrastructure: Policy, Practice, and Environmental Alignment,”
Dr. Lazaros Georgiadis (CERTH) presented technical insights from SYMBIOSIS WP5.3 – Subtask A, which focuses on the cumulative environmental impact assessment of pairing linear transport infrastructure. His intervention outlined the methodology and objectives for evaluating combined ecological pressures arising from co-located transport assets, supporting better environmental decision-making and nature-positive design.
